Indigo Bananas Color of the Fire

Hey guys, today I have another amazing polish to share with you from Indigo Bananas Holo Mega Chrome Flakies Collection!

Untitled
*Press Sample*

This is Indigo Bananas Color of the Fire Holo and it is a gorgeous multichrome stunner that has a different look to it every time you look at it.

Untitled

Indigo Bananas Color of the Fire shifts from fushcia to gold to green to blue and is stunning in all different lights! The flakies provide really great coverage and the holo pigment is strong and packs a punch. This polish is opaque in three coats and applies like a breeze with the flakies laying flat on the nail. I've been very impressed with the coverage of these Holo Mega Chrome Flakies, I feel like these polishes have the perfect balance of holo and flakies! Let's see some more swatches!

Untitled

Untitled

So I added some fun stamping from UberChic Beauty 1-03 plate, that really reminded me of water for some reason. Then when looking for another stamp to compliment it, I came across the cutest whale stamp from my Winstonia W108 plate and just had to add it.

Untitled

Then because I'm wacky and can't leave well enough alone, I tried to add a smile to the whale and clearly failed. Whomp, whomp. You can't win them all. But I like the addition of blue to this look!

Untitled

Let's take one more look at this stunning polish close up shall we?!

Untitled

Mmmm, shifty holo amazing!

Indigo Banana's Holo Mega Chrome Flakies are available now on the Indigo Bananas website and retail for $12 for full size (15ml) and $7.25 for a mini (8ml).

You can look for Indigo Bananas news on their Facebook page and Instagram account, and if you are an Indigo Bananas lover, you should totally join us in the We're Bananas for Indigo Bananas Facebook fan group, the more the merrier!

Let me know what you think about these fabulous holo flakies in the comments! Have you snagged any of the Indigo Bananas beauties yet?!

Stamping over ILNP Masquerade Holo

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I had an okay weekend, woke up both mornings with a terrible migraine though and had to cancel my morning plans both days. And my hockey team continues to collapse before my eyes. But I did get to go on a five-mile walk yesterday and saw all sorts of birds and wildlife, so that made up for it a bit! And then by Sunday night, I got to play with polish and create several different looks, which is always exciting.

Untitled

Today I'm sharing with you from the vault, but a gorgeous look none-the-less. This post will be a bit picture heavy, because ILNP Masquerade Holo is just full of different looks and is just so gorgeous in so many of my photos.

Untitled

Untitled

Masquerade is a gorgeous multichrome that shifts from pink, red, copper to green and blue. It is gorgeous and complex and looks different every time you see it. Best of all, it has a holo finish, making it lovey both indoors and out!

I saw a lot of people stamping over their flakie multichrome polishes with stunning results, so I decided to do it over this polish to see what the results would be!

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Definitely pretty results. Using Born Pretty Plate BP-22 and the Born Pretty Store white nail stamping polish, I stamped this flowerish like image. I like the contrast of the white and the multichrome holo finish, almost makes the multichrome stand out even more!

I don't have a ton else to say at the moment. Currently very late (on Sunday night) here and I need to get some sleep ASAP, tomorrow I am on deadline at work!

What do you think about the look?!

ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies Review

Hey guys! I got my ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies in the mail today and I don't care how late I had to stay up to post this, it was going to happen!

It is nearing midnight now and I had to cover a school board meeting, but I couldn't resist staying up to play with my new polish and bring you guys swatches right fast!

 photo D7D159B8-EADB-4280-82D7-D6CD7AD6959D_zpswub87ghg.jpg

Now these photos are not the greatest, but I wanted to get you the awesomeness as soon as I could!

The ones I chose, from left to right, are Open Fields, Electric Carnival and Supernova!

 photo C6B2ADFC-41A2-42FF-AB3B-A7915D24A07D_zpsju3pnwhm.jpg

A close up of the three. From left to right in this shot - Super Nova, Electric Carnival and Open Fields. I did two thin coats over Zoya Chantal (I finally found a flattering nude creme, so amazing)

 photo 93C9843B-58BA-4793-99EE-4CE40D15EAC9_zpsee6a70h9.jpg

These polishes were extremely easy to work with and I can't wait to play with them and pair them with different base coats! I just wanted to get a side by side comparison for all you people who are interested in purchasing them! If your curious about my five nails above, they are EC, SN, EC, OF and SN.

Unfortunately, due to shipping issues with ILNP getting their bottles, the release date is most likely pushed back until late December. But follow them on Facebook to get all the latest updates. Each bottle retails for $12.50. If you want to get them as a gift for Christmas and they aren't in stock on time, try getting them an ILNP gift card, it will be just as good and they can get the polish as soon as ILNP restocks! I hope you all like this post, I just love these polishes. I only chose three from the entire collection – believe it or not there are actually 13 to choose from!

Dance Legend Different View

Hello everyone! Today I have a spectacular polish to share with you from Dance Legend. Different View is a multichrome chameleon with a stunning holo finish.

Different View is from Dance Legend's Holodays collection which has a linear holo finish from scattered holo particles.

 photo A3F3B0FA-4DBE-48C8-898A-28F5434A7AA0_zpsgkctwser.jpg

This polish has a purple to green shift, which leaves it looking unique in any type of lighting.

 photo 206E089E-FAB6-48AB-93BA-A172C315B4BA_zpsd2z9ix9c.jpg

The holo particles are in scattered foil pieces, which look silver in the shade, above, but out in the sun it is mega holo amazingness!

 photo E3FE444C-B72D-49ED-999A-C6DE7B28E761_zpsusphnflh.jpg

At sunset I checked out the nails again and the green was really showing strong! I feel like the green in this is an olive color with the purple having a more bright and vibrant feel.

 photo E3FE444C-B72D-49ED-999A-C6DE7B28E761_zpsusphnflh.jpg

Overall, this polish is just amazing and delivers on so many fronts: Holo? Check! Multichrome? Check! Unique? Check!

I guess I really just love polishes that look different every time I look at them, I guess that is why this polish is called "Different View," because it's a different experience every time you look at them!

Application: Even though the scattered holo pieces can make this polish look a little textured, this polish went on smooth in three thin coats. Two would have been fine, but I wanted an ultimate shift so I added an extra coat for good measure. I topped it with a coat of HK Girl Top Coat.

Where to Purchase: I purchased this polish at Llarowe, a US stockist for Dance Legend, a Russian Nail Polish brand. It came in a 15 ml bottle and retails for $13. And good news! This polish is currently available at Llarowe! The enabler in me says you should purchase this stunner right away!

Extra note: Sorry I only posted twice this week, still adjusting back to regular life after my lengthy trip I returned from last week. Next week should be business as usual – Monday, Wednesday, Friday!

Indigo Bananas A Thousand Dreams

Today I have a swatch post for you from Indigo Bananas! A Thousand Dreams is a gorgeous multichrome holo polish that has different looks in different lights.

 photo DE138BD6-8F18-4B30-94E3-5430040A316A_zpsewhbsxp3.jpg

In the sunlight is looks like a pink holo polish, with some flashes of orange.

 photo 89A925A5-E97D-4DEE-89C1-54C734CF01A0_zpsnqbewm27.jpg

In indirect light the multichrome comes out to play! This pink and orange shimmer reminds me so much of a sunset.

 photo B8C48980-5341-4CE8-A09D-C3B1F7777384_zps0ccgy3tt.jpg

If you will please forgive me for the visible bumps in application, I once again was a genius and applied this while sitting in the sunshine, therefore it bubbled upon application.

 photo CAC72A1D-D2AA-4E43-B610-9B5542105ACE_zps8eucvj8k.jpg

Speaking of sunsets, I took this last shot while driving as the sun was setting. The thing I love about multichrome holos is when you bend your fingers at just the right angle, it has a whole other look. I truly loved this color, because every look reminded me of a sunset.

Application: This polish went on great in two thin coats. Once again, the bubbling was my own fault and has nothing to do with the quality of the polish! I used one layer of HK Girl top coat on top of the manicure.

Where to purchase: You can purchase Indigo Bananas polishes from their website, I bought this mini bottle (8ml) for $7.25. I really like their shop because you can purchase mini polishes or large polishes, which is a great way to sample a new-to-you indie polish maker.

Girly Bits Belly Jeans

My new favorite finish of nail polish has to be the multichrome holo polish! So far in my experience, Girly Bits has the most amazing polishes that fit this bill. First I reviewed Lack of Pies, and today I am here to show you Belly Jeans!

 photo 4FD66934-2D49-40AA-902D-C62A0F743B6D_zpszjlsl9yg.jpg

The thing I love about these polishes, is that they have so many different looks. All it takes is for the sun to set a little at at certain angles your nails can look like this, below.

 photo 598D8A56-BFB1-4100-A8A3-36EA5042D843_zpsngmqxg34.jpg

It has almost a golden shimmer, very beautiful and unique!

 photo E702559F-CD58-42E2-9232-550219C9C7BC_zpsj4s1tzii.jpg

Most of the time, this bright purple holo is what shows, above.

 photo 0AEDF995-0BA5-49D1-9210-804100BC4C21_zpslg6fe3ar.jpg

But slightly angle your nails and you get a more violet magenta color. Love all the many looks of this polish!

 photo C38323F1-CE68-4E11-8CCF-B7913843D956_zpsh3bzndyu.jpg

Application: This polish went on perfectly in two thin coats. I topped the polish with a layer of HK Girl Top Coat.

Where to Purchase: I purchased this polish on Llarowe for $13. You can also purchase on the Girly Bits website, which is based in Canada (so shipping might be a bit more if you're in the U.S.), for $12.50.

So readers, what are your favorite multichrome holo polishes? I've been so impressed with Girly Bits' take on the finish so far, but I'd love to discover more!

P.S. My no-buy is 4 weeks strong! And July 1 is just around the corner, yessssss!

CrowsToes Vanaheim

Today's polish is a chameleon, a glitter multichrome with many different looks. This polish seems to shift based on the lighting it is in. It is not as strong as a multichrome as some other brands I own (Dance Legend, ILNP) but the polish is unique and stands on its own anyway!

 photo C7679C6A-2034-475F-A51A-B69F338CE5C3_zpsqipnkbkh.jpg

CrowsToes Vanaheim is a gold to greenish blue color shifter with coordinating color shifting glitter.

 photo 89CF0BE5-209C-4E10-9736-D600ED8D33CA_zpsfpeyrszu.jpg

Vanaheim is part of CrowToes 9 Realms collection. The theme is inspired by the 9 Realms in Norse Mythology. Vanaheim, located within Asgard, is the home of the fertility gods.

 photo 8CFDE19C-79AA-40C0-841E-EA6D3DBE74F1_zpsbkeqjgtb.jpg

 photo CCDC52F6-F8C2-44DD-A349-765EEF2CAE66_zpsjoprcuf1.jpg

Application: This is two coats of the polish, with no undercoat. The polish has its own unique shift, no black undercoat needed. The polish dries a little rough, like you would expect from a glitter, so an extra layer of top coat would probably be appropriate. I think I only used one coat and was ok, but next time I'd use two! This polish wore very well, I think I wore this for a few days without any chips at all!

Where to purchase: I purchased this polish from Llarowe for $13. In the U.S. both Llarowe and Overall Beauty stock CrowsToes polish.

Indigo Bananas 2% Butterscotch Ripple

Let me start off this post with an apology. My photos of this polish, do it very little justice. Indigo Bananas consists of multichrome glitter suspended in wine-colored jelly polish.

I layered this polish over a dark OPI (We'll Always Have Paris), which I thought might make it brighter, but only darkened it. For shots of this polish that really show its ultimate beauty, check out the Polish Hound's photos from this post. She really captures the gold to bluish shimmer the sparkles give off and puts all of my photos to shame.

 photo 7BAF703A-6C9C-4144-9D8E-1BF6FA4D4790_zpsvimazyme.jpg

The best shot I got of this polish is the one above, which shows just how raspberry/wine color the polish truly is.

 photo 704CAF6F-F778-479F-A46C-4CC706DD107B_zpsjq5zpabv.jpg

The polish shot also shows it's blue leaning glitter. My horrible darker shots are below.

 photo F40683A4-B01D-4B1B-8E22-A4D81891D250_zpsemad3jcz.jpg

 photo FCC3A148-12FF-4DDA-88D7-ED07D42BEDCA_zpszqbqmmu0.jpg

But if I share with you only my best, how would that be me being real. We all live and learn. I learned that in the future, I will not put this polish over a darker creme. It changes its beauty and I don't want that.

Application: I put one coat of 2% Butterscotch Ripple over two coats of OPI We'll Always Have Paris. Both wore well, but I would not combine the two in the future. Maybe if I were doing skittle nails, but not layered like this polish shows.

Where to Purchase: You can purchase Indigo Bananas polishes from their website, I bought this mini bottle (8ml) for $7.25. I really like their shop because you can purchase mini polishes or large polishes, which is a great way to sample a new-to-you indie polish maker. So far I have loved all of their polishes, especially Maui Wowee (in the bottle shot), but believe me that beauty is a post for another day!

So what do you think? Do you like it when I share nail blunders as well as nail beauties? I know nail blogs are supposed to be all professional, but every nail lady knows you can't hit it out of the park with every manicure. I just feel sad because I know I didn't do this polish justice – I'll make sure to publish a better post when I wear this polish again solo!!!

Review Girly Bits Lack of Pies

Recently I had the pleasure of trying my first Girly Bits Polish and I was very impressed. My second at bat with the company left me even more wowed!

 photo DD460126-F784-4CF9-A092-677C42B7F77D_zpsl9u2kidh.jpg

This, my friends, is Girly Bits Lack of Pies and it is a chameleon of a polish. While I wore it I could not stop staring at it because it shifts so much. It goes from green to pink, sometimes there is a hint of mossy green and then it has that gorgeous show-stopping holo!

 photo B9BFA99A-6B2C-481C-B1B7-497559256BF9_zpsojvylovd.jpg

In indirect light, above and below, you see its many shifts between pink, mossy green and brighter green.

 photo FC486DF1-054D-4C95-93AF-31B6DF18057A_zpslcrtuayx.jpg

In direct sunlight, below, it almost appears a khaki green with wonderful holo payoff.

 photo 22E2A3E9-BBED-4235-9352-FBE0F9EE76CC_zpskewwmqop.jpg

Overall this polish was a knockout for me. So much hype is given to many of the multichromes on the market, but I think this collection has been overlooked. This is multichrome, but isn't the same animal as the others on the market. It's color shifts are so unique, I seriously could not stop staring at my polish. The color shifts were also very obvious and even in the sunlight, you could see the shifts!

 photo 1AADE730-8500-45E7-B282-4EB52408ABF6_zpsrmiyctpn.jpg

Application: This went on great with three thin coats, had absolutely no complaints about it's application. I topped with HK Girl Top Coat and it lasted a good while on my nails (I did not want to take it off).

Where to Purchase: I purchased this polish on Llarowe for $13. You can also purchase on the Girly Bits website, which is based in Canada (so shipping might be a bit more), for $12.50.

What do you think of this polish? I was so impressed that I definitely have to get Go and Shake a Tower and Billy Jeans after seeing how amazing this polish is!

Review, swatches and stamping with ILNP Reminisce

I was waiting forever to try this polish it seemed like, because after I ordered my multichromes from ILNP, it seemed it was never cloudy in California – therefore not optimal photographing weather for multichromes.

There was scheduled rain recently, so I decided to take a shot and throw ILNP Reminisce on my nails. This is a beautiful medium green that flashes teal when in the proper shading.

I was so excited, I was going to pair this polish with an indie I got at Christmastime but still never had the chance to try.

 photo F8E716C6-3C60-445E-AEA5-343993C9DFDF_zpsjr0vg1ym.jpg

The accent nail is Gloss n' Sparkle Goblin's Grave and boy was it a headache. I don't know if I just needed to thin it but the formula was difficult to work with. Gloppy and I couldn't get the glitter placement I so desired. After three coats and a lopsided drying job, I sat through a school board meeting only to come home and change the accent nails and add some stamping to make the manicure better.

 photo 20DE3235-80B0-4BBA-B78F-032C4E6C5104_zps50sc2kj0.jpg

For the stamping I used MoYou London's Sailor Plate 04, my current favorite plate/brand to stamp with. MoYou is a pricier plate to purchase, but their plates are so easy to use!

 photo 11277A29-F12D-431E-BA41-CAC6E4A6B384_zpskekokcej.jpg

I didn't stamp all the nails so I could still display the color shift of ILNP Reminisce, it even looked great in indirect sunlight (below)!

 photo 658027D7-4AC9-4C30-B967-A28A0C5190A7_zps5itqnze8.png

Application: Reminisce was a great polish, went on in two thin coats. You could add a third for optimal color shift. These swatches are without any dark undercoat, the ILNP multichrome formula is great. As I said, Goblin's Grave was really hard to work with, that being said, I'm not ready to give up on it yet. Maybe some thinner will do it some good.

Where to purchase: I purchased ILNP Reminisce from their website for $11.50 during presale, it now retails for $12.50. I purchased Gloss n' Sparkle Goblins Grave from Llarowe at a sale at Christmas, doesn't look to be available online anymore though. You can find Gloss n Sparkle polishes, an Australian polish company, at their website.

Looking ahead: I just got a slew of nail mail this weekend and am going to be in major swatch mode for the next few days. Need to tell myself not to nail art everything, wearing just one color is ok too!
