Under the Sea Nail Art

Hey everyone, I told you I'm trying to post more!!! While I might not be blogging as regularly as I used to, I am still rocking the nail art and loving it!

Today's look features Dreamland Lacquer Village Crazy Lady, the perfect base for an aquatic under the ocean look. And just a note, right now, Dreamland Lacquer is having a 25 percent sale (through Saturday May 20), so if you don't have this shade, you NEED it. Full disclosure, I did swatch this color originally, but this is definitely something I would have purchased. Look at those iridescent glitter pieces shining through the aqua jelly base? It's like sunlight underwater!

Let's get to the stamping details shall we? For this look I broke out the gotnail Bundle Monster stamping plate for the mermaid, dolphin and scale stamping images and then I broke out the twi_star Bundle Monster stamping plate for the fish and bubble image on the pinky!

For the stamping polishes I used Rave Babe and Jungle Mirage from the Bundle Monster Electric Pastel stamping polish set and used the stamping scraper to create the gradient.

I rocked these nails easily for a week and they just brought such a smile to my face every time I looked at them. I just love sea-inspired nails!

Anyway, I'm waiting on some extremely awesome nail mail today, so hopefully I'll get to sharing those new shades with you soon (a new-to-me-brand I've been dying to try for over a year!).

Don't forget about the Dreamland Lacquer sale! So many awesome shades to choose from and this brand does not go on sale often! If you've been waiting to try, you don't want to anymore!!!

Dreamland Lacquer celebrates 5 years in operation (formerly Smitten Polish) this month. Not only is she releasing two limited edition polishes in celebration and two limited edition Fan Group customs, she is having a sale – 25 percent off most polishes in her store with the code DREAMIT5. The Fan Group customs are only for members of the Smitten with Dreamland Facebook Fan Group, but join us, the more the merrier!!!

The sale, which is running as a preorder, is happening Saturday May 13 2 p.m. CDT through May 20 2 p.m. The turnaround time for polishes is three weeks after the end of the preorder period.

Let me tell you a bit about my love of this brand. This was one of my first indie brands I full on fell in love with and everything Noelie created could do wrong. In fact my first order included The First Lobster, which is still one of my all time favorite polishes ever!

Let's get to the lovely polishes shall we? We'll start with the Anniversary polishes!

This is Dreamland Lacquer In Dreams. This is a lovely teal/blue to purple shift polish with large holographic particles. The finish on these polishes is very unique in my collection and I love them. This one, even with it's purple shift, reminds me of a mermaid and aquatic nails – which are my favorite type of nails! This polish does dry on the more textured side, but I found one coat of thick quick dry top coat smoothed it out well. I used two coats for opacity.

This is Dreamland Lacquer Made of Stars. This one was also difficult to photograph the shift, but trust me it is there for sure. It shifts from indigo blue to burgundy, which is more apparent in indirect light (I have a lot of photos of this one so you could see my attempts to capture that shift). Also dries textured, but one coat of thick top coat should do well in smoothing it out, two coats for opacity.

Now on to the Fan Group Customs, you have to be a member of the Smitten with Dreamland Facebook Group, but all are welcome!

First up we have Dreamland Lacquer In a Mood. This is a gorgeous deep dark blue polish with large and small holographic particles. This polish has depth for days, it is so gorgeous and dare I say, almost vampy for such a beautiful shade of blue. It is both bright and dark at the same time and I just love it. I didn't find this one as textured as the other polishes, but top coat is needed for a smooth finish. Opaque in two coats.

Last but not least we have Dreamland Lacquer Middle Distance, or as I like to say, sunset in a bottle! This is a beautiful peachy coral polish with a slight orange color shift in lower light with large and small holographic particles. This is another polish with a lot of depth, but that slight orange color shift is everything in my opinion. This has a textured finish, is opaque in two coats, but is smooth after one thick layer of top coat! This polish is just screaming for the tropical trees tree stamping – expect to see that from me sometime this summer!!!

So once again the details of this awesome event. Dreamland Lacquer is releasing two limited edition polishes in celebration of 5 amazing years in business and two limited edition Fan Group customs combined with an amazing sale – 25 percent off most polishes in her store with the code DREAMIT5.

P.S. I know I haven't been posting as much on my blog, but I'm hoping to get up all the recent nail art I've been doing – and mostly posting to Instagram – very soon!
