Recent Pahlish Purchases

Hey everyone, hope you're all having great weeks. I'm going to be honest, I've been having a little bit of a rough time mentally lately, but I'm just going to try and push though it. I've planned some impromptu trips so have some things to look forward to. Anyway, let's get to the polishes of the day – my recent Pahlish purchases!

Untitled

I bought these when the brand was having a cool offer, but $20 or more in polish and get this Pahlish that was originally only available in a box. So I bought two polishes, and then got the third and most beautiful free!

This is Pahlish St. Mystere. Unfortunately a lot of Pahlish colors are only available for one month and then they are gone. These first two polishes are just that, sorry! This is a lovely grey leaning sky blue polish packed with aqua/green flakies which gave it a nice green glow. The polish was on a thicker side, best application would be two thin coats with enough time to dry between coats.

This is Pahlish Unwound Future. This is a beautiful sea green polish packed with red and golden flakies giving it an awesome copper glow. The formula was thick just like St. Mystere, so best in two thin coats with enough time to dry between coats.

Finally we come to my favorite of this bunch, Pahlish Statue of a Girl! This is a lovely dark brown scattered holo (medium density) packed with multicolored multichrome flakies that just dance on the nails. I was soooo happy with this polish, love it so much. This was an easy application, two easy coats.

So that's all I have in me to blog about right now. Hoping to get out of this funk soon and I hope you're all doing a bit better than me! Love to you all!

Literary Lacquer Nailed Collection

Today I have a very exciting collection to share with you! It's a secret I've been keeping since the spring and I am so jazzed I get to share it with the world today!

*Press Samples*

Amy, the genius behind Literary Lacquers, paired up with Opal Carew and made a collection inspired by her erotic romance novel Nailed, which releases today. Nailed is a novel that is actually about an indie polish maker, how awesome is that?

So it only makes sense that Opal would collaborate with Amy to create a collection to release in tandem with this new book! Amy worked with Opal to bring some of her polish ideas to life and she also helped with the names that connect with the book.

This six piece collection is scheduled to be released Tuesday August 22 (probably today for most of you readers because it's late the night before as I write this) in the Literary Lacquers Etsy store. There are a bunch of different types polish finishes in this collection – perfect starter kit for anyone looking to introduce someone to indie polishes.

Let's get to the swatches shall we?!

First up we have Literary Lacquers Arousal. This is a gorgeous cherry tomato red jelly polish filled with orange, gold and pink glass flecks. Even with the jelly base of this polish, it was opaque in two easy coats. I just looooved this polish. Super bubly and bright shade of red, perfect transition polish to fall. Bright and happy to remind you of summer, but also almost on fire type of red that reminds me of the leaves changing!

This gorgeous glitter polish is Literary Lacquers Tia Wanna. This is a beautiful aqua polish packed with different shapes of blue and aqua holo glitter. You've got square, hexagon, microglitter – it's a glitter party all in a slightly blue tinted clear base. This took two coats for this opacity. This polish is like a swimming pool in a bottle. I'm not typically a glitter gal, but man, the depth of this polish has totally pulled me in!

This fun topper is Literary Lacquers Passion. This gorgeous topper is packed with golden and iridescent flakies and this awesome newish thing on the indie scene – clear holo micro glitter. I layered one easy coat of this over a white and black base so you could see how the base polish kind of creates a different effect. I think I like it over a darker base, I think it would look great over a vampy purple actually!

This is Literary Lacquers Afterglow. This is a gorgeous burnt orange metallic polish has a lot going on. In addition to that beautiful shade of orange, the polish also has beautiful gold flakies and a hidden pink shimmer which gives it so much character. This was opaque in two easy coats. This polish screams fall to me, and I hope all orange polish lovers will flip because this polish is AMAZING.

This amazing holographic topper is Literary Lacquers Love. You guys, this polish is everything. Hands down the best holo topper I've ever used. The tricky thing about holo toppers is they typically tend to grey out the base polish and Amy poured herself and talents into the creation of this amazing polish. This topper is not only filled with fine holographic pigment creating a lovely loose linear holo glow, it also has the clear holo microglitter which gives it a scattered holo look to it as well. I layered this over Literary Lacquers Blue Stocking Romance, a creme from Literary Lacquers, to show you all just how much this does not grey the base of a dark polish. The finish this of holo is so beautiful and I can definitely tell you I've used this in several other manis since this!

And last but certainly not least is Literary Lacquers Orgasm. This is beautiful multichrome polish that shifts from a royal purple to a red leaning magenta. The shift in this one is shy, but take it out for a walk and the shift totally comes out to play! The formula on this one was a tad sheerer than the the rest of the collection, but applies easy in three coats.

Once again the Literary Lacquers Nailed Collection comes out Tuesday August 22 in the Literary Lacquers Etsy store and Opal Carew's Nailed book also releases today!

Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Midnight Violence

Hey everyone. Still clearing out my phone of some older swatches and nail art. Today I have a gorgeous shifty polish to share with you.

This beauty is Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Midnight Violence. I have some fun nail art inspired by a wine label later in the post so stay tuned after the swatches.

This is a gorgeous indigo blue polish that looks like the dark night sky. In addition to it's indigo holo beauty, it has a very very very sparse scattering of multichrome flakies, which you can see better in the bottle. It has a medium density holo with holo microglitter that sort of resemble stars. It also has pink shifting pigment which you can see in my tilted bottle shot best.

Most of the time though, it just looks like a deep indigo midnight sky. It's been awhile since I applied this, but I'm pretty sure it was opaque in two easy coats. It is sort of jellish, so it may have been three. I apologize this isn't the most confident review. I do remember it was easy to apply, I always remember the difficult ones!

I was greatly admiring this one wine bottle's label for quite some time and once I put on this polish I thought it was time to do a little nail art inspired by the wine! So I broke out my UberChic Beauty UC 7-01 and stamped using Essie Penny Talk. I think the final result looked great next to the label.

So what do you think? Do you like the complexity of this polish?! It is quite the stunner! Once again this is Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Midnight Violence, and yes, I think you need it!
