Good morning everyone! Today I've got an awesome collection of polishes to share with you and they are available this Sunday, so open up your wallets everyone!

This is Great Lakes Lacquers Friends Pt. 2 Collection and it is made of five super unique polishes with super special qualities about each one as each one is made in honor of a friend of the awesome creator Mariah.

The collection will be available at 3 p.m. Sunday September 27 on the Great Lakes Lacquer Etsy site!

A note to begin, if you see any texture in these photos, it is because I did not swatch with top coat. Most of these are super shiny and wouldn't even require a top coat, but there are one or two with all sorts of special elements in them which might create a bump or two. One coat of top coat would easily solve this, sorry I didn't top coat while swatching, but I promise you'll still see these polishes sparkle and shine.

First up we have one of my favorites! This is Great Lakes Lacquer The Traveling Linguist and it is a gorgeous brown jelly polish packed with gold and copper flakie shimmer. This did apply rather sheer and patchy on the first coat, and because it was a jelly it did require three coats for opacity. There was no difficult in application and just look at that gorgeous payoff. I swear this is the season of the brown polishes and I want them ALL!

Let's see what Mariah had to say about the inspiration behind The Traveling Linguist:

This lady is a world traveler and has the language skills to go with. She is also a huge nature lover. Her idea of a vacation is taking you out camping and making you climb things while she’s at it. I tell you though; the views when you wake up are worth it. Did I tell you she’d give you the shirt off her back as well? One thing is for sure, when I cross Patagonia off my bucket list, she’s definitely coming with me. That way I’ll always have an extra pair of clothes and be able to ask where a bathroom is.

This beauty is Great Lakes Lacquer The Polish Fairy Godmother and it is a gorgeous coral pink polish with beautiful blue shimmer which really stands out in my collection. I've never seen a polish like this and it just so stunning. Very girly, but the blue shimmer definitely tones that down a bit. It's a classic polish with an unexpected twist. This polish was not streaky at all and applied perfectly in two thin coats.

The inspiration for the polish:

A more apt name could not be found for this one. When I first met this lady, the first thing she did was send me a bunch of nail polish that I had on my wishlist. I have gotten to know her since and she is as sweet as the goodies she sends. She is also tough as nails. To this day, I know of hundreds of people that she has visited her kindness upon. You, too, may have her to thank for your keen interest in indie nail polish.

This is Great Lakes Lacquer The Enigmatic Soul and there is a lot going on with this polish. It is a gorgeous cobalt blue jelly polish packed with emerald glitter and amethyst and copper shimmer shards. I just love this one because it has so much depth to it. Application was a breeze in two coats, no need for a third even with it's jelly base.

And the inspiration behind this lovely shade:

There is more to this one than there seems, at first. At the surface, there is quiet but underneath the depths are limitless and rolling, almost like a river. You would never know that she has all the amazing talents that she does if you don’t take the time to get to know her. From making nail polish to architecture to the culture she cherishes, the multifaceted side of this lady never ends.

Check out this sexy polish, a little fun and bright vamp going on, perfect for fall don't you think?!? This is Great Lakes Lacquer The Animal Advocate. It is a gorgeous plum linear holo polish with beautiful fuchsia and copper flakies which really set this polish apart in my vampy-filled collection. This applied wonderfully in two coats.

And the inspiration behind this polish, which totally describes a person I could totally be friends with:

A woman with a heart of gold and the mind of a 12-year-old boy, this lady is quick with the sass and can make a sailor blush. Still, she is a great friend who is always there with a helping hand, especially for those who can’t speak for themselves. She does amazing things for animals in need, even fostering for those who would be forgotten otherwise. Her huge heart and voracious vocabulary are a huge inspiration to me.

And finally, last but totally not least, is Great Lakes Lacquers The Evil Enabler. This polish definitely packs a punch, it is a deep purple jelly polish packed with orange holo flake, orange glitter and orange microglitter. This applied in two easy coat, I would wait a minute between coats so the glitter does not drag too much. I definitely liked this one a lot and I am sorry I didn't top coat it because I bet it would look even more stunning with a top coat!

The inspiration behind this one, and I think we can all name one or two of these in the nail blogging world:

No one is safe from this lady’s swatches. Perfect nails, perfect polishing, and gorgeous nail art hardly covers it. I know I’ve bought many bottles of polish based on her pictures. Good thing she has awesome taste. I hear she is a mean mixologist and will ear bug you bad but I haven’t fallen victim to that yet. You can always trust her to give you the truth while considering your feelings. A true friend with the ability to make you empty your wallet.

And now I will share with you the Great Lakes Lacquer October Limited Edition polishes. Each month Mariah makes two gorgeous limited edition polishes that are only available the month of October. These babies are inspired by The Walking Dead memes you've not doubt seen floating around the interwebs, so let's take a look at these beauties shall we?!

First up we have Great Lakes Lacquer Coral, a funny jab at the exaggerated Southern drawl on Carl's name from The Walking Dead. This is a beautiful soft purple linear holo with gorgeous pinky coral shimmer. I just looooove this purple, it's soft and delicate without being too girly. I guess kind of like Carl (to be honest, I've always detested him as a character!). This applied easily with two coats.

And finally we have Great Lakes Lacquers Stuff & Thangs - this is for Rick, his stuff and thangs. This is a gorgeous blood red jelly polish with orange gold crystal chrome flake and red shimmer and microflake. This also had easy application in two coats.

So once again, get your pocket books ready ladies, all of these polishes will be available at the Great Lakes Lacquers Etsy site at 3:00 p.m. EST Sunday September 27. And don't forget to keep up on the latest and greatest things Great Lakes Lacquers on Facebook and Instagram. We even have a Facebook Fan Group too, come join in on the fun!

So which of these is your favorite?! The minute I got the package and tore into it I was struck with how unique each of these polishes is in my collection. I've never seen polishes quite like these and the fact that they are inspired by real life people? Even better!
