So I yesterday was my annual favorite polishes of 2015, today is the favorite nail art looks! This year was a great year for my nail art, I'm still growing and I'm very proud of my progress in one year. I'll try to display these in chronological order so you can see the progress too!

ILNP Stripe Nails

Today I have a fun and quick nail art post to share with you featuring both a blinging holo polish and an super great multichrome polish.

Untitled

The holo/multichrome pairing is something I truly love. It is often sunny in California so I'm always in the mood for a good holo but I also spend a good portion of my days indoors in the office. So I am always on the hunt for a good mani that looks good indoors and out!

Untitled

For this look I paired two polishes from the INLP 2015 Fall Collection, which I reviewed (my picks at least) here. I started this look with three thin coats of INLP Maiden Lane, a lovely pale grey-leaning lavender ultra holo.

Untitled

After the base dried, I added straight nail vinyls to create a simple straight line running through the whole look and painted one coat of ILNP Glory (one of my FAVORITE polishes of this year) in the stripe-created spot.

You'll see these macros just how bling-y this is in direct light and then in soft light.

Untitled

I really did love these nails, they were soft and understated, but then also super bling-y. Best of both worlds! And I thought the greyish neutral base of Maiden Lane would make Glory really stand out, and it totally did!

That's it for today folks. Sorry this is so quick, but I've got a big incoming pile of to-swatch holiday collections coming up for you! Believe me you won't want to miss out on what's coming up from all my favorite brands! I just love the holidays don't you. Promise to sprinkle nail art at least once a week too! :)

Aztec Road Trip Nails

Hey guys, I'm still on my four day weekend, but I thought I'd try this whole mobile blogging from my phone thing. So sorry in advance, I won't have live links in this post!

These are the nails I sported for my weekend away! I used Aztec chevron nail vinyls and Indigo Bananas Phlogiston Paradise (the best purple creme ever) and KBShimmer Run It's The Coppers!

I love how these turned out! And they were bright and great for our weekend away. I took them with me for a day on the shore of Lake Tahoe and to the casinos of Carson City yesterday. I spent the weekend with my best friend and her husband and mom for a fun weekend away from the hustle and bustle of life!

Unfortunately my nails did not bring me luck at the slots. Oh well it was super fun!

Sorry these photos aren't the best, they were taken on the road while in the car! Oh and on my weekend away my hubs and I celebrated our sixth anniversary! This summer has been filled with weekend adventures and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Hope you all had great weekends too! I've got a lot in store for the rest of this month so stay tuned!!!

Neon and Nude Aztec Nails

Today I've got a neon pink holo and awesome nude flakie combo that I put together. I'm going to keep this post brief as I have just spent the weekend away, spent the last few hours swatching some new polishes and am a little spent on the verbal side!

Untitled

For this look I paired the lovely Smitten Polish Date Night, the neon pink holo polish, with the beautiful Digital Nails The Dude Abides.

Untitled

For the thumb, middle and pinkie nails I started with two thin coats of Date Night and for the index and ring finger I started with three thin coats of The Dude Abides. Then I used Aztec nail vinyls from VinylBoutique to create the aztec looks.

Untitled

Both of these polishes are AMAZING. The neon pink holo finish in Date Night pairs so well with the flakies in The Dude Abides.

Untitled

I loved this look so much when I originally wore it I never wanted to take it off! Coming up soon I've got some amazing new neon flakies from Smitten Polish and some more fun nail art as usual. Hope you all have stellar weeks!

Perfect Pair: Elevation Polish Muztagh Ata and ILNP Fame

Hi everyone! Happy Friday, you've made it to the weekend! Time to celebrate! This weekend I am headed to meet my nephew (who lives in Germany), but is visiting me this weekend! I met him in utero this summer and I am so excited to get to hold him the flesh!

If all those explanation marks don't spell it out for you I'm EXCITED! It's been a busy week in the world of this Newsie Nail Novice – two evening meetings (loooooong work days) and a last minute visit from my dad. I'm so glad I've had the time to blog through it all, it is my therapy after all.

Today I have a fun look I sported last weekend while visiting my friend in San Luis Obispo for a girl's weekend!

Untitled

Untitled

This gorgeous beauty is Elevation Polish Muztagh Ata. It is lovely teal-leaning denim blue scattered holographic polish that is almost opaque in one coat. I can't talk enough about how amazing the forumlas are on all my Elevation polishes!

Next I added a little skittle nail art to the look, because I knew I would be wearing the look for the weekend.

Using nail vinyl straights from KBShimmer I created the lines with INLP Fame and then used another single chevron to create the triangle accent on the middle.

Now I'd like to take a minute to just give a shout out to ILNP Fame, this lovely gold and silver holographic flakie makes the perfect accent for any look! I just loved how it paired with Muztagh Ata, kept me happy all weekend long!

And if you are wondering what top coat I used that kept my nails shiny all weekend, that would be the Marvel Liquid Macro by Superchic Lacquer top coat, which retains it's shine for so long I am just in awe of it. While I was on my girl's weekend we got pedicures, and the person doing my nails could not stop staring at my nail art – she thought they were gel nails, that is how shiny the Marvel Liquid Macro is! You neeeeed it if you haven't tried it. TRUST ME!

Anyway, I may or may not be tipsy posting right now, but I wanted to end this post with my jam of the week – Overload by Life of Dillon. This is the perfect song for the summer and I am predicting now that this will blow up. It is happy, tropical feeling and just so upbeat! I hope you love it as much as I do!
