Ugly Christmas Sweater Nails

Hey hey hey everyone! Today I've got the busiest, most obnoxious red and green nails to share with you! All in the holiday spirit!

Untitled

There is SO much going on in this look, I kind couldn't actually wear it out (I usually do wear my looks out, this one was just too much). So let's start with the gorgeous bases. The red is Dreamland Lacquer Out, Damned Clot! and the green is Literary Lacquers Leaves of Grass. Perfect Christmas red and green holos if I do say so myself!

Untitled

Now lets get to the stamping specifics. Double stamping for the win always, but seriously, too much red and green! Anyway the first layer is KBShimmer Eyes White Open, my go-to stamping white polish. The top layer was Painted Polish Woodland Whimsy. The stamping plate on this was Bundle Monster BM-S215.

Untitled

Once again this nail started with a layer of KBShimmer Eyes White Open. Then I broke out my Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Universal Loner from the first Creme a la Mode box to stamp the red on top. The image was from an old Winstonia W120 from a bundle I got a long time ago.

Untitled

So these are bright and obnoxious, but I'm sure Christmas is like that for a lot of people so this is an apt depiction, no?

Anyway, I've got a few more holiday looks I hope to get up before Christmas, so stay tuned!

Simple Christmas Dotticure featuring Polished for Days

Today I have a simple holiday look I've been sporting on my nails all week. The base polishes are to die for, I just knew I had to pair them together.

Untitled

The two main polishes here are Polished for Days Twinkle and Polished for Days Grandma Got Run Over by a Unicorn (from the December For the Love of Polish Box).

Untitled

Untitled

Let's talk about these beautiful base polishes. This is Twinkle and it is a gorgeous teal leaning Christmas green holo polish with a red shimmer and red to gold shifting multichrome flakies. This polish has so much going on, shimmer, flakies and holo! It is so beautiful. Opaque in two easy coats.

Untitled

This is Polished for Days Grandma Got Run over by a Unicorn and it is everything. This is a beautiful mulberry holo polish with a gorgeous teal/blue shimmer and copper to green to gold shifting flakies. This polish is so unique and so full of rainbows, I love this! Opaque in two easy coats.

Untitled

Untitled

To bring this look together I did simple polka dots using KBShimmer Eyes White Open and then on my accent nail I stamped a wreath (from the Bundle Monster holiday plates) using a England Saint George and Cupcake Polish Blood Hound (very opaque holos which I knew would stamp and match the beautiful base polishes).

Untitled

I looooved the antique-y beauty of this look, it's not the typical red and green look, but it is understated and classy I think. And the contrasting shimmers in this polish were PERFECT. These polishes looked like they were made to go together like this!

November/December Great Lakes Lacquer Polishes

Hey everyone, Happy Monday! I meant to show these to you last week, but a two-day migraine and tight work deadlines prevented me from being very productive blog-wise. Sorry about that.

Untitled
*Press Samples*

Today I have four beautiful polishes from Great Lakes Lacquer on the blog. Two are the December limited editions and will be available Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. CST, one is part of the recently released My Winter Survival Kit Collection and the last is one of the November LE, which is available until Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. CST. All these beauties are available at the Great Lakes Lacquer new Big Cartel site.

First up is one of the two December LE. This is Great Lakes Lacquer Rainbow! Right Here and Now! This is a gorgeous grey crelly polish packed with flakies of the rainbow and scattered holo to top it all off.

Mariah, the creator behind Great Lakes Lacquer, said "Inspired by a photo and named for a beloved character in a book.  Every rainbow I see, I say in my head 'Right Here And Now!'  Most times, I will add a Wolf onto the end as well."

This polish is slightly thick, but if you stick with thin coats, you'll have no problem with application. My swatches are two coats plus a top coat. I really just love this polish, beautiful in low light when the flakies are display and in the sun, this polish is perfect for any occasion.

This is the second December LE, Great Lakes Lacquer Winter Solstice Sunrise. This beauty made me gasp when I saw it, so stunning. This is a gorgeous faded sky blue polish filled with multichrome flake that shifts from violet to blu to purple and shimmer that brings out shift in the flake.

According to Mariah this polish was inspired by sunrises and the colors that inspire her the most.

The formula on this polish was perfection, opaque in two easy coats.

This is Great Lakes Lacquer Fuzzy Socks, part of the Winter Survival Kit Collection, which just released on Friday. This is a gorgeous fuchsia red with purple shimmer jelly polish packed with micro holo flake.

Mariah said, "Warm and soft and necessary.  My favorite pair resemble this color, only this polish has added bling because feelings."

This polish was opaque in two super easy coats. I loooooved the depth of this polish, so much to love here. It's a great berry color and I have a lovely matching sweater which I broke out when I was wearing this one. Such a beautiful color for winter.

Last but not least I have some nail I art I did yesterday featuring the Great Lakes Lacquer November LE, which I just had to purchase because it is so beautiful and perfect for this time of year. On my thumb, middle and pinky fingers is Great Lakes Lacquer Thank Full. This is a gorgeous brown-leaning burgundy holo with orange leaning red flakies that flicker and bring this polish to live. A gorgeous almost one-coater – I am in love this polish.

I created the above look as my Thanksgiving nails, they should last me through at least Thursday! On the pointer and ring fingers is Different Dimension Armstrong (which I don't think is available anymore, sorry) with a fun leaf design from my UberChic Lovely Leaves plate using Painted Polish Stamped in Chocolate and Stamped in Sweet Potato.

If you like this fun fall look, stay tuned for tomorrow, I'm sharing six different looks (not including this one) using the Lovely Leaves plate because I'm obsessed with fall manis.

But back to Great Lakes Lacquer, as a reminder, the two December limited editions and will be available Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. CST. Fuzzy Socks is already available. Thank Full is a LE and is only available until Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. CST. All these beauties are available at the Great Lakes Lacquer new Big Cartel site.

So let me know, which of these are your favorite.

Halloween Nail Art

You didn't think I'd let a holiday pass without doing some sort of nail art to commemorate it?!?

Untitled=

These are my only Halloween nails I've done this year. I think it's because of my lack of stamping plates, or my obsession with fall manis, but this was all I did. It's cute and colorful so I like it, but man I've totally used these Halloween stamps before.

Untitled

Untitled

First off, to create these awesome stripes, I broke out my MoYou London Pro Plate 01 and used Painted Polish Midnight Mischief on the stripe image – then on the stamping head I painted the stripes using Dreamland Lacquer Plastic Pumpkin (orange), Sugar Coma (green) and Questionable Costume (purple).

After waiting a minute or two for the microglitter to dry on the stamping head, then I stamped the image on my nail (over a layer of Midnight Mischief, which I already had painted on my nails). This stamper decal method is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I find it so much easier than using my UberChic mat, because I find decal placement and transfer to be my biggest issue.

Untitled

Untitled

Then I did my accent nails which truly made it halloween using my Bundle Monster BM-H08 and my Jolie Stamping polishes. Check out how awesome that green looks against the black background.

Untitled

Anyway I really liked how these turned out, especially the stripes. Sorry I didn't do more fun Halloween looks this year like I have in the past. But don't you worry, November is going to be FULL of fall colors and leaves manis!

Hope you all have fabulous Fridays, and have you entered my giveaway yet?!!?

Hey everyone, there is a chill in the air and its just about time to start sharing some beautiful fall polishes with you

Today I have Dreamland Lacquer’s Fall polish collection and their Halloween Trio, both which release for preorder on September 19 at 2 p.m. CT at the Dreamland Lacquer site. The preorder will be open for 72 hours.

The first is a set of four polishes for the Outlander-themed collection. This collection retails for $11.50 each, or all for for $42.

First up is Dreamland Lacquer A Hundred and a Thousand More. The inspiration for this polish is from Claire’s wedding dress and wedding ring, named for the inscription inside the ring.

This is a lovely medium grey jelly polish with holographic glitter and flakies. This polish dries down flat and sparkles for miles and miles. This is a beautiful polish full of bling, and the inspiration behind it is charming. Opaque in two easy coats.

Next is Dreamland Lacquer Over the Sea to Sky. The fairy pools on the Isle of Skye and the Outlander theme song inspire this gorgeous polish.

This is the ultimate teal polish in my opinion. It is a teal jelly polish filled with holographic flakies – depth for days. Teal is one of my favorite polish colors so I gasped when I broke this polish out. It was opaque in two coats, but do wear a base coat, because it stained slightly without one (I was able to clean off pretty quickly though and trying again with basecoat, there was no issue).

This is Dreamland Lacquer Red Jamie, inspired by everyone’s favorite 18th century Scottish highlander, James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser.

This is a dusty muted red chestnut polish with a gorgeous linear holo finish. Dreamland makes some of the best linear holos in my opinion. Just love what Noelie can do with these polishes. I have a lot of red holos, but this one is unique in my ever-growing collection. Perfect for fall. Opaque in two easy coats, almost a one coater!

Last out of the fun Outlander Collection is Dreamland Lacquer Sassennach. Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser, 20th century English wife of Jamie Fraser, was the inspiration behind this polish.

Be still my fall-loving heart. Brown holos stole my heart last year and I am just so in love with this new brown linear holo from Noelie. This is dark and deep and has a great linear gold holo glow. Just in love with this polish. I think it might make a mean fall gradient with Red Jamie too! Opaque in two coats, almost a one coater.

Now I have the Dreamland Lacquer Halloween Trio collection to share with you. These three polishes will retail for $10 each or the collection will be $27. They will also be available for preorder on Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. CT.

First up we have Dreamland Lacquer Plastic Pumpkin. This is a great medium orange jelly polish filled with holographic microglitter. Opaque in two coats but might want to add an extra layer of topcoat for a smooth finish.

This is Dreamland Lacquer Sugar Coma. This is a bright slime green jelly polish filled with holo microglitter. Noelie does microglitter right, it’s always super fine, but sparkles and has a lot of depth. This bright green made me think of the Moster Mash while I was playing with it! Opaque in two coats, may want to use two layers of top coat. I only used one.

Last but not least we have Dreamland Lacquer Questionable Costume. This is a beautiful medium purple jelly microglitter polish. I just love this shade of purple and paired with the other two in this trio, it could make a great Halloween mani! Opaque in two coats, may want to use two layers of top coat. I only used one.

Both sets of these polishes will be available for preorder on September 19 at 2 p.m. CT at the Dreamland Lacquer site. The preorder will be open for 72 hours.

Hope you enjoyed my swatches and fun Halloween stamping. I loved playing with these polishes, really got me in the mood for fall and Halloween. I know it’s just around the corner and it’s my favorite time of year! Which of these are making your to-buy list?!
