Snowflake Nails

Hey everyone! I've got another quick holiday look to share with you today!



Tis the season for me gravitating toward not the most traditional holiday colors. I really like how this turned out!!!



The base is Emily de Molly Crystal Crown – a gorgeous white holo with a golden glow.



For the snowflakes I broke out Color Club Blue-ming (the aqua), Essie Go Overboard (the teal) and B Polished Red-y for the Holodays (one of my favorite classic Christmas reds). I used Bundle Monster BM-S216 for all the snowflake images. I then took a dotting tool to add to the snowflakes and tie the colors together!



Anyway, things are winding down here at work, and I'm in twidling thumbs mode. I have one more holiday look I hope to get on the blog before Christmas and I should probably do my actual Christmas nails tonight. Or just pray the look I'm currently rocking lasts through the holiday!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Nails

Hey hey hey everyone! Today I've got the busiest, most obnoxious red and green nails to share with you! All in the holiday spirit!



There is SO much going on in this look, I kind couldn't actually wear it out (I usually do wear my looks out, this one was just too much). So let's start with the gorgeous bases. The red is Dreamland Lacquer Out, Damned Clot! and the green is Literary Lacquers Leaves of Grass. Perfect Christmas red and green holos if I do say so myself!



Now lets get to the stamping specifics. Double stamping for the win always, but seriously, too much red and green! Anyway the first layer is KBShimmer Eyes White Open, my go-to stamping white polish. The top layer was Painted Polish Woodland Whimsy. The stamping plate on this was Bundle Monster BM-S215.



Once again this nail started with a layer of KBShimmer Eyes White Open. Then I broke out my Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Universal Loner from the first Creme a la Mode box to stamp the red on top. The image was from an old Winstonia W120 from a bundle I got a long time ago.



So these are bright and obnoxious, but I'm sure Christmas is like that for a lot of people so this is an apt depiction, no?

Anyway, I've got a few more holiday looks I hope to get up before Christmas, so stay tuned!

B Polished Lethe

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I'm really sorry I've been quiet on the blog lately. Election season at work is bananas and I'm still reeling from last week and some personal stuff going on in my life. But anyway, I've got a lovely polish to share with you today.

Pretty distractions are great, even more great when they glow and are holo!!!









This is B Polished Lethe, which is limited edition. This is a muted, soft blue holographic polish, filled with green shimmer. It just glows with that green shimmer and it really feel aquatic to me. Perfect for those mermaid nails everyone loves.

The formula on this is great, it is slightly brush-strokey, but apply thin coats and you don't really notice. Drying helps a lot with this too. It was nearly a one-coater, but I did two for good measure and topped it with B Polished's wonderful Prism Shield top coat (this thing preserves holo, y'all), for a holo lover like me, this is a MUST.

Anyway, because this is almost a one-coater, I decided I must check to see if it stamps.





Good news everyone, this baby stamps and is gorgeous! For this look I broke out B Polished Midnight in Death Valley, the ultimate black stamping polish and stamped an image over Lethe using one of my Bundle Monster Festival Plates, this was on my pointer, middle and pinky fingers. For the thumb and my ring finger, I tested Lethe's stamping power using the same image and it was beautiful!

So the consensus is, we all need Lethe, and there are only a few bottles left and then this polish is gone for good. Don't miss out!!! Available at B Polished's webshop, there are a bunch of other unique and beautiful polishes there too!

Halloween Nail Art

You didn't think I'd let a holiday pass without doing some sort of nail art to commemorate it?!?

These are my only Halloween nails I've done this year. I think it's because of my lack of stamping plates, or my obsession with fall manis, but this was all I did. It's cute and colorful so I like it, but man I've totally used these Halloween stamps before.





First off, to create these awesome stripes, I broke out my MoYou London Pro Plate 01 and used Painted Polish Midnight Mischief on the stripe image – then on the stamping head I painted the stripes using Dreamland Lacquer Plastic Pumpkin (orange), Sugar Coma (green) and Questionable Costume (purple).

After waiting a minute or two for the microglitter to dry on the stamping head, then I stamped the image on my nail (over a layer of Midnight Mischief, which I already had painted on my nails). This stamper decal method is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I find it so much easier than using my UberChic mat, because I find decal placement and transfer to be my biggest issue.





Then I did my accent nails which truly made it halloween using my Bundle Monster BM-H08 and my Jolie Stamping polishes. Check out how awesome that green looks against the black background.



Anyway I really liked how these turned out, especially the stripes. Sorry I didn't do more fun Halloween looks this year like I have in the past. But don't you worry, November is going to be FULL of fall colors and leaves manis!

Emily de Molly and Hella Holo Customs

Hello everyone. On Tuesday I received my latest order from Emily de Molly, which included one of the June Hella Holo Custom polishes, so I thought I would get to sharing these shades with you lickety-split, so you could see swatches while the polish is still available.

These are three shades full of shimmer, which I’ve been very drawn to lately, and I feel a lot of makers have been gravitating toward. The ladies at Hella Holo Customs have worked with a number of different indie companies, calling on them to make polishes inspired by the Facebook group photos.

Well let’s get to the swatches shall we?!









First up we have Emily de Molly Lace Man. This is a lovely purple leaning grey polish packed with pink, purple and golden iridescent flakies which give off the most stunning pink glow. This was opaque in two easy coats, but does dry down slightly textured (very very slightly, just the flakies I think). I would recommend a thicker top coat to make it shiny and smooth.









Next up we have Emily de Molly Shadow on the Moon. This is a lovely stormy grey linear holo polish packed with larger microglitters for a scattered holo effect and then packed with dark pink flakies to create an awesome red leaning pinkish glow. This one was absolutely stunning, I was in love with this polish. Just look at the macros and appreciate the depth and complexity of this gorgeous polish!!! This was opaque in two coats, shown with a glossy thick top coat.









Finally we have Emily de Molly Desert Rose, the Hella Holo Customs special polish. This polish was definitely pinker than I expected, but paired with that greenish golden glow (it leans more green in real life) that totally cools down the pink and makes it appear more coral like. I love the optical illusion of it all! The shimmer definitely is strong in this one, so much so the linear holo seems to take a back seat, but it is still a lovely combination. This polish was opaque in two coats, but was a bit on the watery side, not difficult to work with, just don’t overload your brush. It was mildly brush-strokey, but that seemed to disappear when the polish dried a bit.

This above shot is a little warmer, due to it being taken in the morning sun. 

I just can’t leave well enough alone and decided I needed to do a little double stamping of a succulent-like stamping image, since the inspiration for this polish was the most gorgeous mix of succulents. The image is from UberChic Beauty 7-01 plate. To stamp I used Bundle Monster Jungle Mirage (from the Electro Glo nail stamping set) and then used Painted Polish Midnight Mischief to double stamp.

I looooove the results. I was inspired by a video that UberChic posted on instagram last night. I thought the double stamping was a neat effect and I thought the Jungle Mirage color matched the shimmer in this polish so well!

There are two other Hella Holo Custom shades from Emily de Molly I didn’t purchase but now am seriously considering. I was really impressed by all of these polishes and now I want all the Emily de Molly polishes!

GlitterDaze Nail Polish Review

Good morning everyone, this year I've continued with the tradition of trying brands that are new-to-me so I can review them and share the results with you!



Today I have three beauties from GlitterDaze Nail Polish. I don't know how I originally missed The Marie Antoinette Collection, it came out in fall of last year, as I am obsessed with creme, flakie, holo combos – but I sure am glad I found it this year and can share with you my picks! And stay tuned because of course I've saved some nail art to complete the post!









First up we have GlitterDaze Chemise A La Reine. This is a lovely off white/light grey creme base packed with multicolored color shifting flakies with delicate holo pieces that shine throughout. The thing I love best about the creme/flakie/holo creations is that they look beautiful indoors and outside. The holo dances in the sun and the flakies bring the multicolored fun to life inside! Best of both worlds. The formula on this was great, opaque in two easy coats and the flakies lay flat on the nail!









Next we have GlitterDaze Eat Cake. This is a nice nude creme base packed with warmer pink to green to gold shifting flakies with those same delicate holo pieces. I think I would have preferred this polish more if it had multicolored flakies like Chemise A La Reine, only because this pulls warmer because of the color family and I prefer neutral rainbows over warmer color families. This had the same great formula and was opaque in two easy coats, however I did not heed the warning (which is on the shop listing) on this polish – it is a light stainer. Albeit it was only a slight stain, but you might want to double up on base coat, I had light pink nails after wearing this one out for a few days.









Finally we have GlitterDaze Versailles. This has a lovely dusty green creme base and is packed with green/blue/purple color shifting flakies and the same beautiful scattered holo pieces. I looooved the cooler colors in this, but I thought the colored base sometimes stole the show from the flakies. Either way this one was a stunner. Two easy coats, no staining at all. This polish reminded me of a mermaid or peacock, which is why I did added the following nail stamping to it.







Because of the flakies peacock qualities I decided to break out my most recent feather-y stamping plate I got from the Bundle Monster Festival Plates (BM-S301 to be exact), and stamped this fun feather image. I thought it matched pretty well with the base polish and it was a cute look!

Overall I was pretty impressed with the quality of these polishes. I haven't heard a whole ton about the GlitterDaze brand, but was happy with what I received in these beauties. Something about the holo in these, they aren't your typical holo pigment and I think that is what makes them stand out a bit in my large collection.
