Smitten Polish Neon Flakies Collection Pt. 2

Say hello to the Smitten Polish Neon Flakies Pt. 2, plus some comparisons with Pt. 1 later in the post! These lovely new neon flakies will be available for pre-order Wednesday July 1 at 2 p.m. CT for 24 hours.

I'm going to cover the application first, because the formula for this whole collection is very similar. Application is great for this whole collection, most people could probably get away with two coats, but I applied three because my nails are longer and I didn't want even a hint of visible nail line. I love the jelly finish on these, makes the polish look extra shiny and squishy! The formula is easy to work with, the flakies are all evenly distributed and lay flat on the nail with zero drag upon application.







First up we have Smitten Polish Pool Noodle. This lovely is a beautiful neon pink jelly polish with golden iridescent flakies throughout. My photos make it a little less neon than this polish actually is, but it is truly bright, trust me!







Next we have Smitten Polish Jar of Sunshine. To me this is seriously a glass of Sunny D (remember that drink!?!) bottled into a nail polish. I love this neon traffic cone orange neon flakie. This one also has the golden iridescent flakies. This too, was brighter in person than my photos could capture.



I included a these comparison shots with the similar Opalescent Elements warmer shades. Please keep in mind that these neon polishes seriously freaked out my camera so the colors here aren't exactly accurate, but I thought it would be helpful to see them side by side. From right to left : Aer Opal, Pool Noodle, Ignis Opal and Jar of Sunshine. Aer Opal is clearly more purple than Pool Noodle, but their flakies are the same, just different bases. I would say that Pool Noodle is definitely brighter. Now the bases of Ignis Opal and Jar of Sunshine are very different. I would almost say that Ignis Opal is a more pastel type of neon finish that is a great orange leaning coral finish. Jar of Sunshine is clearly a bright neon orange finish. Ignis Opal flakies are green leaning, while Jar of Sunshine has the golden flakies.

 

Now onto the cooler shades of the collection. 







This is Smitten Polish Lazy River. When I first saw this polish my heart skipped a beat. This is just the most perfect color, clearly my favorite here! This is a lovely green-leaning teal jelly polish with green iridescent flakies. This isn't neon like the other two, but a lovely shade of teal and the flakies make it nice and bright.







And finally we have Smitten Polish Ice Pop Paradise. This is a close second favorite of this collection, it is the most stunning shade of blurble (a blue leaning purple). This jelly flakie polish looks purple and blue all at the same time and has green iridescent flakies. I love how chameleon this polish is – sometimes blue, sometimes purple with a lovely green flash.



And now I have the cooler shades of the Smitten Polish neon flakies. From left to right: Terra Opal, Lazy River, Aqua Opal and Ice Pop Paradise. Terra Opal is clearly a neon green with the golden flakies and Lazy River, while green leaning, is clearly teal with green flakies. Aqua Opal is a gorgeous almost cerulean blue with green flakies and Ice Pop Paradise is a blue leaning purple with green flakies, where the blue looks more navy than cerulean.



These are all really great and unique in my collection. Clearly my favorite is Lazy River is my favorite, but they are all so lovely.

Indigo Bananas Holo Multi Chrome Flakies Pt. 2

Hello everyone! I'm back with another comparison post of five of the lovely Indigo Bananas Holo Multi Chrome Flakies.

Today I've picked the green and blue shifting flakies of the bunch. These are completely the colors I am most drawn to! And stay tuned for side by side comparisons at the end of this post.

I've once again lumped the formula portion of this post all together, because the formula on all the Indigo Bananas Holo Mega Chrome Flakies is the same. They all apply opaque in three coats, no sponging required. I would wait at least 1 minute between coats (basically while you do your other hand) so that you don't drag the flakies down. I love the formula on these, it is the perfect mix of holo pigment and multi-chrome flakies. The flakies also lay flat on the nail and are not difficult to remove at all.

For the post I've included three different views per polish: one in direct light, one in indirect light and one macro. These are also shown sans top coat, so sorry these aren't super shiny and if a flakie looks a little textured, it's only because I haven't glossed over it with top coat. Typically it wouldn't look that way. Let's get started!

This is Indigo Bananas Watercolor Memories Holo. This has green and pink shifting flakies, and as you can tell in the macro there is a slight blue shift to it as well. This polish is a stunner and it shows both green and pink in direct light. This is a flakie combo I have not seen before and I do say this is a must have!







This is Indigo Bananas A Greener World Holo and my does this one really take my breath away. Green lovers, this has a bit of every hue of green in it. From gold to light green to darker green to teal. In direct light it looks mostly green, but in indirect light and especially in the macro shot you can see just how complex and deep the hues of green go!







This is Indigo Bananas A Field Trip With Butterflies Holo and for the green lovers, it too is an amazing flakie shifter. It shifts a tad less yellow to light green, and more bright green to teal to blue. You definitely feel the blue/teal tones stronger in this shift than in A Greener World.







This is Indigo Bananas Nautilis Holo, and as you can tell now, are moving more toward the blue shifting flakies. This shift is just a hint of green then it goes from teal to blue to just a hint of violet. For the blue/teal lovers, this is a stunner!







And finally we have Indigo Bananas Hyperborea Holo. This polish is mostly blue, but shifts from teal to blue to violet. I found this to be the least shifty of these five polishes in the bunch, but still quite beautiful! The violet does show up even stronger in direct light.

Now these polish can be worn opaque, like I've shown above but also as a topper, so I decided to do a side by side comparison of the polishes as a topper and then side-by-side comparison of them opaque.







Side by side you can really see their shifts a little more clearly – I like how side by side they clearly start to look a bit rainbow/ombre-esque!

Indigo Bananas Holo Multi Chrome Review Pt. 1

Hey guys, so as I showed you in my last post, I've been given a hefty load of polishes to review from Indigo Bananas so I thought I'd break them down by what looks most similar so today I am sharing with you the warmer color shifting holo flakies.

This is Indigo Bananas Fantastic Planet Holo. This polish flakie shows primarily pink/red, as you can tell in the direct sunlight shot, but it's true flakie shift is that of a darker violet, to pink/magenta, to gold to green. Of all the pinky shades (in this post), this is the most magenta/purple leaning.







This is Indigo Bananas Dawn Chorus Holo. This flakie shift, while also primarily pink/red (even more so than Fantastic Planet), its shifts from pink to gold to green. This polish clearly shows more of the gold/green shift than Fantastic Planet.







This is Indigo Bananas Color of the Fire Holo. This flakie shift leans pink/red, but shows even more of the cooler color shift. Note, sorry these swatches are a bit different, they are from a previous post where I reviewed the polish initially. This flakie shift shows most of the rainbow, almost a stronger more obvious shift from pink/red to orange to gold to green.







And finally, this is Indigo Bananas Hay Ride Holo. The shift in this one is very subtle but shifts between a bright gold and a more copper gold. I love this one, it definitely is different from the rest of the collection because it shifts less, but I've seen nothing like it! I think this polish could be a really topper come the holidays (think of what it would look like over a red or green!). Or even in the fall, it really reminds me of the changing colors of the leaves! This polish is so versatile!
