Lake Tahoe Vacation Nails

Hey guys, I return from vacation today but I'm pre-posting once again so I can vacation without worries and so you won't worry about missing a thing!!!



Today I get to show you my ever so awesome vacation nails. Usually like to do a good skittle nail when I go on vacation so I don't get bored too easily with my nails.

For this awesome look I used my Smitten Polish neon flakies, and because I'll be in the sunshine, I added a layer of Indigo Bananas Spectraflair Holo top coat (SF 35)! Both of these brands are some of my absolute favorites so I was so happy I could pair them together. Also fun fact: turns out these ladies are friends in real life too! Yay for happy nice makers!!!



As you can see, the top coat makes these beautiful polishes sparkle in the sun. And now for the specifics, from thumb to pinky we have, Smitten Polish Terra Opal, Smitten Polish Lazy River, Smitten Polish Ice Pop Paradise, Smitten Polish Aer Opal V. 1.



And as you can see in the shade, the flakies come out to play! Soooo much fun! Love that the addition of holo does not overshadow the flakie goodness in these either. For the stamping I broke out my Rica Blackout Polish again and used my MoYou London Explorer 25 plate.



So what do you think?! I totally love to holo all the things so I just love that I was able to holo these flakies, it is the ultimate vacation look.

My Vacation Nails

Hey guys I'm back! Thanks so much for not minding my hiatus, I had a wonderful week off and it was a great break and a wonderful reset. Unfortunately, I ended the trip on a rather awful note when I dropped my iPhone 5 in salt water and it totally died. My wonderful photo taking device, which somewhat cripples my blog.

But onto brighter things, I had several nail art pieces stored in the cloud, so I'll be updating my blog with that in the meantime while I wait to get my hands on another used iPhone 5. Because let's face it, my iPhone 4 (I switched back to) just won't cut if photo quality wise, and using my husband's iPhone 6 somehow distorts the colors a bit. Oh geeze, the trials and tribulations of a nail blogger are so silly. I'll hopefully get this sorted out soon!

Here are my lovely vacation nails! I wore these for the majority of my vacation until I spent a day in the beach and the sand and saltwater just ruined the mani and made it chip like crazy!



I showed you guys a sneak preview of these awesome nails before I left, but I thought it was only proper if I showed them to you in the full. On the thumb, middle and pinkie nail I have a gradient of Indigo Bananas The Uranium Evil (neon yellow), Diva Plumbum (teal) and Carbon Dallas (blue), which were all sent as a press samples, and then did a holo top coat of Spectraflair 35 Top Coat by Spectraflair4U. Then using my new favorite nail stamping plate, MoYou London Doodles 07, I stamped fun sea creatures using KBShimmer Eyes White Open (my favorite white stamping polish)! And no vacation is complete without a bit of holo in your face courtesy of Painted Polish's Drunk on Holo, which I applied with a makeup sponge for that extra glittery holo look!



The nails were perfect on the dolphin cruise I took around Hilton Head Island in South Carolina (where I took my vacation). I had so much fun on my trip. It was a true girl's weekend which I spent with my mom and one of her closet friends!

So I hope that you enjoyed these nails as much as I did! They were the perfect accessory for my vacation!

Moving forward just understand I'll be a little crippled in the photo quality department as I try to figure out how to properly adjust to having unfamiliar photo equipment! I have a ton to review in the next few weeks, but I might wait on that until I can properly get my hands on an iPhone 5 again.

Vibrant Gradient and Geometric Nails

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been as present in the social media world blogosphere this week. I have multiple night meetings for work and a last-minute visit from my dad – so I've been quite busy.

Today I have some awesomely vibrant nails I wore for a bit last week, they are just so lovely and I can't wait to show you!



This was made using my Creative Stamper, which I'm still trying to get the hang of. But I just love the look of the gradient, it turned out soooo pretty.



So for the gradient I started out with a base of Kiko Melon, which is a yellowish creme I got when visit Europe last summer. Then using a makeup sponge I added a gradient using OPI Aloha From OPI (coral) and Lost My Bikini in Molokini (purple). I really loved how this turned out.

I wanted to add something extra, and normally I add a bit of China Glaze Fairy Dust here but I had a linear holographic top coat mini polish that I had been meaning to break out so I did. This awesome holo top coat is Spectraflair 35 Top Coat by Spectraflair4U (which I got in my Santa's Secret Sack in December) and it gave this gradient and an awesome holographic effect without really taking too much away from the gradient. I am in love with this now as a gradient topper!







Then I added stamping using my Bundle Monster BM-604 stamping plate using my creative stamper. I think I am still getting the hang of properly using the stamper. I see it's benefits, but I find it is hard to pick up full images from the plate, though it is easier to stamp on images to the nail.

It seems like maybe it is good for bigger images and getting straight lines, but fine detailed stamps do not work well with the stamper I find. I plan on discussing this more online today to see if there are tricks I need to use when trying to play around with the Creative Stamper. So far, it's not my favorite.
